Bethel and the Upper Andro region is all about outdoor vacations. In the summer, there is great fishing on the Upper Andro and in the many lakes and ponds, canoeing and kayaking; hiking in the White Mountain National Forest, golf at two championship courses; rock hounding and gem hunting in the famed Oxford Hills, visiting museums and historic sites, or attending our fairs and festivals. Fall brings the beauty of our maples and birches contrasted against Maine’s famous pines. The area is the winter capital of New England with three alpine ski areas, three cross country ski centers, snowmobiling, and sled dog trips.
